The Land, Soil and Crop (LSC) Hub, Ethiopia
The Land, Soil and Crop (LSC) hub facilitates effective access to land soil and crop information data by making existing resources better findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable. The LSC hub promotes improved decision-making for climate-smart agriculture at national, regional and local levels.

Purpose
The Ethiopia Land, Soil & Crop Hub (LSC-Hub) is your gateway to comprehensive, accessible, and actionable land, soil, and crop information-empowering better decisions for climate-smart agriculture and sustainable rural transformation.
Partnership
Developed by the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) in collaboration with international and regional partners, as part of the Land, Soil and Crop Information Services (LSC-IS) for Climate-Smart Agriculture project.
Focus Regions
Initial pilots are underway in Adami Tulu Jido Kombolcha (Oromia) and Basona Werana (Amhara), with plans to scale nationwide.
National-level data hub
- Land, soil and crop data from many sources are being consolidated into data portals, or hubs, where these data can be stored, processed and visualized.
Interactive Map Viewer
- Visualize and compare spatial data, including high-resolution soil and crop maps.
- Overlay multiple data layers for in-depth analysis.
Information for climate-smart agriculture
- These data hubs support diverse practices which help the agricultural sector adapt and build resilience to climate change. The hubs account for changing environmental conditions and facilitate relevant climate change mitigation.
Improved accessibility to agricultural data
- A land soil and crop data hub links existing data sources and portals to facilitate easier access while maintaining national data ownership.
